Degree Options

The Alabama Center for the Arts is an institution that collaborates with two top-rated schools to provide a robust curriculum for both visual and performing arts majors.
To learn more about degrees and classes available, use the links to go to the appropriate college or university site. At the ACA, associate’s degrees are granted through Calhoun Community College, and bachelor’s and master’s degrees are granted through Athens State University. The two institutions work closely together to create a seamless transition between the schools and their respective programs.
Associate of Science

This two-year degree is designed for compatibility and ease of transfer to a four-year university. The three concentrations are:

  • Art Concentration
  • Music Concentration
  • Theatre Concentration (Choose from Acting, Musical Theatre, or Technical Theatre)

Bachelor of Fine Arts

This degree is considered the professional four-year degree for careers in the Fine Arts. There are three concentrations:

Bachelor of Arts

This degree is broader in scope than the BFA and allows for more flexibility and elective courses.

Master of Fine Arts

The Master of Fine Arts in Integrative Design (MFA) program is a professional terminal degree in art and its disciplinary extensions of graphic design and digital design. The three concentrations are:

  • Media and Digital Arts
  • Painting and Drawing
  • Ceramics
